Marty was from what I can begin to put together a former editor for the magazine Pursuit. I have also found a former sign for SITU, a picture of Ivan Sanderson and many of his books scattered about. Seeing as Marty died 15 years ago and many of his things have been rummaged through since then. But what I have found has led me to believe that Marty and Ivan were in direct correspondence and worked together on projects throughout there lives together. Since discovering these items it has led me to become highly interested in the former organization, its works, and Marty’s relationship with the organization.
Seeing as the maker of this post has intimate knowledge of former members and a large cache of Ivan’s works I am essentially asking for any information one would be able to give me related to these topics and more. I look in fairly often and still answer what questions that there might be, but, although I have some research that I am doing, I doubt that I'll still compose entries. MAYBE I will, but at age 80 I wonder if I have the steam and worthy things to say so as to allow somewhat regular postings. I DO have something "new" to say about the Druids. Sabina Sanderson was listed as part of the PURSUIT editorial team in the early 1980s, stopped doing that and was last appearing publicly in PURSUIT with a book review in 1985. It is not impossible that she is still alive --- my guess is that she would be about 90. Id gladly send a drive with return postage to return it whence copied. I am not a well known researcher or anything so you probably wouldnt know me. But if you attend any MUFON symposiums, or the UFO Congress, or Roswell conferences, etc...in the last few years you likely have seen me. The storage and archive of UFO material is a particular hobby/obsession of mine. And have spent far more than full time the last few years researching this field and aquiring my archives and on a part time basis for ~25years (started young as im one of the youngest people i see attend these conferences). Ultimately id like to start something like AFU in the US. Unfortunately there is only so much money can buy (and I know ive spent a small fortune acquiring books/magazines/other materials the last few years) , you cant just get the case files/archives of some defunct UFO group on ebay. They goto places like AFU (and you and other well known researchers) and so while i spend a few times a year spending many days at the Roswell museum going thru their files (and will be helping them digitize stuff), there is alot of stuff I collect digitally. Both scanned documents, documentaries, tv shows, books, etc..and would love to add another 60gigs to the 600-700gigs I already have found and downloaded. Particularly since it sounds like stuff not likely in my collections. Anyway, sorry for long reply, just trying to show how serious of a researcher and of preserving UFO related material of all kings. Id also gladly host the files online for others to grab at will and then you wouldn't have to make copies on flash drive to distribute (although that might be easier at such file sizes). At least it available to more people that way. Let me know if we can work something out. jeffknox@gmail.com (okay to post)trax0rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06655731826832210214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019724693487670016.post-6788049203178152742018-06-22T16:54:18.276-07:002018-06-22T16:54:18.276-07:00Ivan to my knowledge did not say any such thing ab...Ivan to my knowledge did not say any such thing about that symbol. He made it up to represent "pursuit." (and "pursuit with haste" and doubtless joy.) The symbol did not appear on the front page of the newsletter until volume 1, number 4 (September 1968.) The original version of this was something resembling a rapidly-moving semi-crazed or at least highly-focussed predator (somewhere between a mouse and a bird) about to pounce on what at first looks like a worm, but is in fact a question mark. i.e., the intense Pursuit of mysteries.

Who knows what your experience was about, but it was not something that Ivan believed in and created a symbol to represent. Is anyone still out there? I was having a ...Hello,

Is anyone still out there? I was having a dull moment or two at work recently when I had a flash back to a dream I had had the previous night. I dreamt of Ivan Sanderson. I am 66-years-old. In the 1960, while in my teens in The Bronx, I lay awake some nights, transistor radio next to my head, listening to Long John Nebel on WNBC-AM. It was there that I got to know Ivan, or at least his voice. I was very much “in to” what either Ivan or Charles Forte – also of The Bronx – called “Resology,” “the study of things.” Flying saucers, Sasquatch, Mothman danced inside my head. Long John was the conduit, but Ivan was the evangelist. Sometime in my senior year of high school I was reading SITU’s “Pursuit” and came across an article about the Loch Ness Phenomena Investigation Committee. It said they always needed volunteers. Trashing college that September I arrived at Inverness, Scotland, with an overstuffed suitcase that my mom packed and a hell of a lot of rolls of film. Yeah, I saw something while serving a “Loch Watcher.” I still see the movie I took repeated again and again, and then some more, whenever Discovery or History Channel runs out of WWII shows and fills its airtime with monsters. But, this is not the story here. When I returned from my visit with Nessie I wrote to Ivan at his home in Washington, NJ, near the Delaware Water Gap, to let him know of my adventure. A short time later the phone rang in my parent’s apartment. My mother yelled to me, “There is an Englishman; Sandman or something on the phone.” I was noticeably shacking when I answered. During the next few years I visited Ivan. I met his wife. I believe her name was Alma? She was suffering from cancer and passed away shortly after. That first time I visited Ivan was a warm summer day. I can still see him sitting in a fan-backed wicker chair across from me in his living room, sun streaming in. He wore only a bathing suit, sandals with a carved tiki on a leather lanyard hanging from his neck while holding his ever-present Scotch-on-the-rocks. His home was filled with wonderful stuff from beautiful wild-life paintings to a plaster cast of a yeti footprint. I got to visit him a number of times over a couple of years. About a year after Alma passed Ivan married hid long-time secretary Marion Fawcett. I was getting married myself in April 1973. My new wife and I were going to honeymoon in the Poconos. This would take us right past Ivan’s home and I had arraigned for us to stop by so I could introduce my wife to him and Marion. About a month before our wedding, I was driving home from my fiancée place when I heard over the car’s radio that Ivan had passed away. I pulled to the side of The Bronx River Parkway and cried.
muggy1951https://www.blogger.com/profile/07903714762793239672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019724693487670016.post-83136650061638518182017-11-10T07:23:04.006-08:002017-11-10T07:23:04.006-08:00My error: the address is att. net --- my gmail i...My error: the address is att. net --- my gmail is .com, but that doesn't explain how I goofed that up. So, in general, yes, the archive is available to be used. Obviously there are certain "pragmatics" to be hurdled.

1). you have to contact me to get and give information. My e-mail is mswords@att.com. In that e-mail I'd like to know who you are and what your interest is, and if you have any goals for a visit. If I think this is "responsible" (doesn't have to be scholarly, just adult/mature interest is OK, but describe the interest a little), we can proceed with date possibilities from there.
2). any visit to my home (where the archive is located) needs to be treated with some adult civilized sensibility. At a minimum that would mean A.) arranging dates which are open for me to be in general attendance, B.) times which are civilized in that they would be within, say, 10am to 5pm time periods, C). arriving when you said you would with a degree of promptness (since I shouldn't be asked to just sit around waiting), D). treating the materials with great respect in lieu of future researchers, E). not needing me to be constantly available for "conversation" --- helpful I will be, but I have a life.
3). i'd expect you to feed and house yourself --- not trying to be miserly but this seems reasonable especially if I don't know you.
4). whereas multiday visits are OK, keeping the burden on me in some civilized bounds would be appreciated --- I am 77 now and do not enjoy the grind.

If the idea interests you, I'll expect an e-mail rather than more exchanges here on the old blog. The Professorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07811807639219365621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019724693487670016.post-15677774030188339752017-10-19T16:38:57.363-07:002017-10-19T16:38:57.363-07:00Hey.
